How to be an Advocate

You can help change policy!
The best way to affect change is to send an email to policymakers and have your voice heard!

What makes an effective email:

  1. The best letter is where you, in your own words, say that dyslexia deserves specific mention and protection under the ADA.

  2. Also, mention that you are a friend or constituent of the congressperson or senator to whom the email is addressed (see contact info below).

  3. The letter need not be long; in fact it is better if you stick to a short, one-paragraph note.

  4. Please consider cc'ing The Yale Center for Dyslexia when you compose your email. We are eager to be united in our efforts.
