Tutors are great! I am one :)
I think it's very important to have a tutor. Personally I've counseled parents to always try and tutor their children first. But regardless of who's doing it, that one on one is imperative for a child with dyslexia, especially if there's ADHD thrown in to the picture too.
One on one tutoring all... More-->

Fast ForWord?
Can we talk about the auditory training software, Fast ForWord? While the software's efficacy has been studied with mixed results, I am inclined to pursue it as an option for my son, because of his highly complex mix of diagnoses.
Another recent conversation with my son urged me to pursue my co... More-->

What Parents Can Do
As a reading teacher, and a parent of a dyslexic child I am writing to parents in the community to tell you that there are things that you can do to help your child right now. One of the most important things is easy and costs no money-- just time. Read aloud to your children each night. Remember... More-->

Tutoring Is It Worth The Aggravation?
YES!! I understand that tutoring can be expensive, time consuming and hard to justify, but I believe the one on one work is invaluable.
