PostPost subject: Resources for Teachers in French?    Posted: Tue Nov 15, 2011 1:30 pm Reply with quote

Hello,

I am a parent of a child (8) who has dyspraxia and ADD. We have not had her evaluated for dyslexia yet, because we recently moved to Switzerland and she started school in French only a year ago (we're following the advice of a pediatric psychiatrist, on this score). Nevertheless, she does display some signs of dyslexia (letter reversals, confusing s & c, she had trouble differentiating left from right, and the entire process of writing is difficult).

I am wondering if anyone out there is aware if what is out there in English has been translated to French. I'm searching in French too, but the Swiss, at least are behind on dealing with LDs in the classroom. We had to put our daughter into a private school, which has a record of dealing well with kids with LDs. Even so, the teacher just sent a note home saying, Iman has to write better...I'm thinking, this is fantastic, you should have seen last year!

Apart from that, I'm introducing my daughter to the keyboard, which won't be a tough sell, since she adores all things computer....

Thanks for listening,
J Spencer
