I am currently a student in Seminary. I have struggled with reading all my life. I can spell well, pronounce words, and read aloud. However, I read very slowly and often times retain little information - it seems as if I am just going through the motions. I also silently say each word I read. I just met with a neuropsychologist and she thinks I am dyslexic - fluency form. I also have a tremendous difficulty writing academic and other papers. Once I can get it out into print I write very well, but the battle to get the information from my memory to page is frustrating beyond necessity. I speak well, and can relate information well in a very organized and logical manner. Does anyone know of any resources about the link of dyslexia/fluency and writing processing?

Step one is to receive a proper diagnosis. Your school should be able to help in finding a qualified evaluator, though the evaluator will not be affiliated with your school, due to potential conflicts of interest.
