What about the dyslexic adults that were failed by the school they were in. Is there a chance of tackling reading difficulties later in their lives?

any of the programs used for children can be applied to adults and if it is correctly diagnosed and applied, reading skills can greatly be improved. Look at the Wilson Reading Program for establishing and developing the ability to apply the appropriate sound to any letter or letter pattern and any of Lindamood Bell's information on the pre reading skill of Phonological Awareness, such as the LIPs program for establishing the correct sound awareness with or without letter association

Certainly! Yes, adult dyslexics can learn. It is important to find a coherent method of absorbing information to do so. In my case, multiple pathways are the way to go. I don't just read information, I also listen to it, write it out and speak it out loud. A coherent system, such as the Wilson system mentioned above, will lend structure to the efforts. Seek lots of advice and try many different things. The best solution is the one that works for you.
