• What does the Center do?

  The Yale Center for Dyslexia & Creativity (YCDC) is the preeminent source of cutting-edge research, informed advocacy and trustworthy resources to help those with dyslexia reach their full potential. Through research and advocacy work, YCDC conducts studies and builds awareness about dyslexia. We mobilize grassroots efforts to narrow the reading achievement gap for all students, including low-income students of color, through policies that help dyslexic children succeed.

• Can I (or my child) get evaluated for dyslexia at your Center?

  YCDC performs dyslexia evaluations on children and adults participating in our current research studies as well as on students currently enrolled at Yale.

• Can you recommend an evaluator?

  We are not able to recommend an evaluator. Please click here  to learn about questions to ask an evaluator.

• Can the Center help with getting accommodations?

  We have a great deal of information on this website that can assist you in getting accommodations. Please see Accommodations—Time and Tools to get started.

• What remediation/tutoring does the Center recommend?

  Every individual is different, so we cannot make specific recommendations. However, we encourage you to advocate for an evidence-based intervention program. Learn more here .

• I’d like to help the Center’s cause. How can I do that?

  Visit the Advocacy section of this website to find out about the many ways you can help. Our Guide to Talking about Dyslexia is a good place to start. Please also consider a donation to the Center.
